Dating in Riga: A Week of Unexpected Romance

I recently opened a conversation with her on a well-known but relatively quiet street in Riga about a week ago. Right from the start, she appeared to be quite receptive and expressed how she found it refreshing that guys still approached girls in person these days.

Our first date was on Monday, and that’s when I learned she actually lived in another town and had to catch the last transport there at 9:20 p.m. Despite this, she genuinely enjoyed our first venue and even complimented the choice, despite it not being a fancy bar. I knew making a move at that point was unlikely, so we extended our stay at the first venue, engaging in a fun game of questions.

Afterward, we took a leisurely stroll around the city before ending our first date. I didn’t attempt a kiss, sensing the moment wasn’t right.

She texted me right after the date, and our texting conversation flowed smoothly. She even sent photos and shared some of her favorite songs. So, I arranged our next meeting for this Thursday evening, suggesting we watch a movie at my place since she had previously brought up the topic.

However, when I proposed the idea of coming over to my place, she seemed hesitant and suggested just going for a walk. Eventually, she agreed to come over.

The interesting part was that we had agreed to meet at a park near my place, but just 10 minutes before our meeting time, she suggested meeting in the city center instead. Although this was farther from where we originally agreed to meet, I firmly stated that we should stick to the original plan, as it was more convenient for me. She playfully responded that it was because it was closer to my home and confirmed that she was on her way.

I waited for her at the park as planned and then took her to my place.

It’s worth noting that some guys in this chat had raised questions about dating when the other person has a set time to end the date. In this case, the girl had to catch her last train at 9:20 PM as she was from a different city. I kept this in mind, which did make me somewhat aware of our limited time, but it also helped me plan accordingly.

We met at 7:10 pm, and by 7:30 pm, we were already at my place, enjoying a cup of tea and some music in my bed. At 8:15 pm, I initiated our first kiss, and I could sense that she was becoming more and more interested.

Just before that, she asked, “Aren’t we going too fast?” implying the possibility of having sex on the second date. I chose to ignore the question and continued, leading to a memorable moment.

I offered her the option to stay, but she declined, explaining that she had school the next day. So, at 8:50 pm, we left my apartment and headed to the nearest bus station. From there, she made her way to the railway station, in a bit of a rush, considering our time constraints.

We agreed to meet up again on Friday or Saturday, ensuring that the following day would be free for both of us.
