The biggest excuse that messes with my mind when I think of doing sets is “It’s gonna be awkward, and I’ll end up looking like a fool”
So, how do you guys handle this?
Normally, people are gonna give you tips and advice, but when you’re 3 steps behind a girl on a busy sidewalk or store, it’s useless. Because your brain and nervous system will go right back to the “going to look like a fool” deep fear, you can’t think your way past this.
Fortunately, it subsides over time.
So eventually, instead of this dreading feeling occupying 65% of your mental bandwidth as it does at this stage, it’ll just be quite 10%. Because in my experience, the majority of your mental bandwidth will be occupied with the things you can control in an approach.
Let me tell you guys the 5 pro tips I used to handle this:
- You have to be ready to fail. If you never fail, that means you will never succeed. If you are failing, you know you are reaching for something better. This applies to everything in life.
- Awkwardness is natural. So let her be the one who is surprised and awkward. To do that, you have to show her that you are the one who is confident, steady, and acting on reaching your goal in this spontaneous situation.
- Whether or not the set doesn’t work out, congratulate yourself for being the unique dude who had the goddamn balls to walk up to her because 99% of guys are too much of a pussy.
- Did you choke and she just walked away? Don’t worry and freaking laugh about it, because that shit was hilarious.
- The more sets you do, the less you will think about it. Go for it!
Moreover, here are 3 crucial pieces of advice for you guys:
1. There are 365 days in a year, for almost all of them you will NOT ever really feel like going out and gaming. So, you must just go out often regardless of how you feel.
2. No matter what weasel you overcome today or tomorrow, there will be thousands, millions waiting to replace it. So, ignore the weasels because this shit is mostly in your head and not real.
3. No amount of mental masturbation will give you the confidence to approach, only real-world confrontation of that which scares you. So, you need to just approach.
There are plenty of videos and content on approach anxiety. The ONE message they all have in common is: “Just fucking approach”, and YES you will have to ACCEPT any awkwardness.
